Today's discussion was spot on! I think the challenge of scaling edtech adoption in Nigeria can be understood through the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Ultimately, the user's question is: "how does this technology fits into my daily life as an educator or learner," considering my socio-cultural, psychological, and habitual factors. Do edtech firms consider this complexity when designing solutions for Nigeria. Adhering to a checklist, similar to a Edtech4Good Framework, can help. Let's avoid forcing technology, or more recently AI, on educators and learners. As Donella Meadows says, "We can't force our will on the system... we can only listen and discover how our values and its properties can work together." It's about people, not just technology. Education, not edtech.
